Green Dot

In many countries in Europe the principle of producer responsibility have applied within the last years: Once packaging have served their purpose, manufactures and vendors have to take them back, arrange for eco-friendly recovery, and finally document the entire procedure involved. These duties are assumed to local collecting and recycling organisations, often named  as "Green Dot".

By paying what is called a license fee, the responsible company for the product acquires the right to use the "Green Dot" logo on the packaging. In general the license fee is depending on the material and the weight of the packaging.

As moulded fiber products belong to the paper fraction, the "Green Dot" fee is low, especially in comparism with  plastic products.
